JH Racing have been competing in two championships in 1998, the New Era £13,000 Superclub Championship and the EMRA Club Championships.

We have just won the 1998 EMRA Championship and acheived 2nd place in the New Era Superclub Championship.

We also competed in the Donington Park round of the televised MCN British Superbike Championship.

The New Era Superclub Championship has given us the chance to race at circuits previously not raced to gain track knowledge that is vital if we switch to the British Superbike rounds in '99.

Here are the 98 season race results so far:

March 1998 EMRA

Mallory Park, problem plagued meeting, electrical problems, complete re-wire of bike.Finished 8th, 11th, 9th and 7th.

March 1998 NEW ERA

First time at Donington Park. Only ten minutes to learn track.Finished 10th and 7th (in the wet).

April 1998 NEW ERA

First time at Brands Hatch.Finished 4th and 2nd. Tyre went off in one race with one lap to go.

April EMRA

Mallory Park.Finished 1st , 9th and 4th. (9th due to rain, not enough time to put wet tyres on). Bike still not running right!!

May 1998 NEW ERA

Mallory Park. Finished 2nd in both races beating current championship leader (Dave Mabbut), moved from 3rd to 2nd in championship with only four points between Jarrad and leader.

May 1998 EMRA

Mallory Park Absolutely soaking first race, got up to 3rd place (even with bike running on 3 out of 4 cylinders 'cos of wet), race ended up being stopped, too much rain.

Second race, still wet, Jarrad came from 5th to 1st place in first two laps, and then led the race for the remaining 8 laps to win a clear victory, the 2nd place man was 4.5 seconds behind.

Third race, poor grid position given, 2nd from the back row, Jarrad got boxed in for the first lap, came from around 18th place up to 6th in 5 laps (laps reduced due to earlier accidents eating time away), easily the quickest rider in the race, not enough laps to catch the leader though.

All of the above races earned Jarrad the 'MAN OF THE MEETING' award, see team photo section.
